WANDA CARTER
Wanda Carter has been actively painting since 1978. She has studied with several master portrait and landscape artists; Ben Konis, Harley Brown, Daniel Greene, Albert Handell, Paul Leveille, Michael Del Priore and Peggy Baumgaertner.
Wanda prefers painting from life, whether it be a landscape, still life or portrait. Painting from life strenthens one's powers of observation. She has taught landscape, still life and portrait classes and workshops in Michigan and Florida.
Wanda had a one woman exhibit at the Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame in Lansing, Michigan in 2003. Paintings in pastel, oil and acrylic featured Michigan landscapes, some still life and portraiture.
She has received awards from the Naples Art Association, Charlotte County Visual Arts Center, Women Artists of the West, Englewood Art Center and the Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors.Northport Art Center, and the Desoto Arts Council. She has exhibited her work in four National Shows in Florida and Michigan.
Wanda is a member of several art organizations including the Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County and the Visual Arts Center and the Arts Alliance of Lemon Bay, Figure and Portrait Society of Southwest Florida,the Englewood Art Center and Northport Art Center, Desoto Arts Council and the SW Florida Pastel Society.
She is a great supporter of the environmental groups and animal groups who are striving to help save them.
